How it works?

Step 1: Book Your Phone Consultation
Reserve your phone consultation with a £50 deposit. Before booking, please read and accept our Terms of Service for important details about safety, cancellations, and privacy.

Step 2: Doctor Phone Consultation
Our GMC-registered doctor will aim to call you within 48 hours of paying your deposit to discuss your hair concerns, review your medical history, and help decide if PRP for hair restoration is likely suitable for your goals.

Step 3: Book Your PRP Treatment
If treatment is suitable, we’ll schedule your in-clinic session. If not, your £50 deposit will be refunded. For 3-session packages, a £150 total deposit secures your appointments, with £50 deducted per session.

Step 4: Before-Care Advice
You’ll receive tailored preparation advice to help you get the most out of your session.

Step 5: PRP Session
On the day of your appointment, your doctor will carry out a thorough face/scalp assessment and review your medical history to ensure the treatment is suitable for you. You will also go through a detailed consent form, which explains the treatment process and potential risks, and provides an opportunity to ask any questions before proceeding. With your consent, dermatoscope imaging may be used for before-and-after tracking. We use medical-grade equipment and refined centrifuge protocols to optimise your treatment process.

Step 6: Aftercare Support
Following your session, you’ll receive clear aftercare guidance to support recovery and help maximise results. Our team is available for advice should you have any questions.

What is PRP for Hair loss?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood to naturally restore hair growth. It works by concentrating the platelets, a type of blood cell rich in growth factors like PDGF, VEGF, and EGF which are essential for tissue repair, cell signalling, and follicle regeneration.

A small amount of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to isolate this golden layer of plasma. When injected into the scalp, these growth factors stimulate dormant hair follicles, improve blood flow to the scalp, and support the natural hair cycle.

FAQs

How many sessions will I need? Most patients start with a course of 3 sessions, spaced one month apart. After that, maintenance treatments are typically recommended every 3–6 months depending on individual response.

When will I see results? You may begin noticing improvements in hair texture, thickness, or shedding within 2–3 months, with visible regrowth usually seen between 3–6 months after starting treatment. Full results are often observed after completing the initial package.

Is PRP safe? Yes, PRP is considered very safe because it uses your own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or complications. Mild scalp redness or tenderness may occur temporarily.

Who is PRP hair best for? PRP works best for early to moderate hair thinning (androgenetic alopecia) in both men and women. It is less effective for completely bald areas or hair loss due to scarring conditions.

Is the procedure painful? Is the procedure Discomfort is generally minimal. A topical numbing cream can be used to reduce sensitivity, and most patients report only mild pressure or pinching sensations during the injections.

How long do the results last? Many patients maintain results for 6–12 months after completing their initial course. Maintenance sessions every few months help preserve density and slow further thinning.

Who is legally allowed to perform PRP in the UK? PRP is a medical procedure involving blood products and is classed as an unlicensed medicine. Under UK law, it can only be performed by qualified prescribers: doctors, dentists, nurse prescribers, or pharmacist prescribers. At Vidalane Aesthetics, all PRP treatments are carried out by a GMC-registered doctor for your safety and peace of mind.

Can PRP be combined with other treatments Yes. In some cases, PRP is combined with topical treatments like minoxidil or oral finasteride to enhance results. While some studies support this, more large-scale research is still ongoing.

Are results guaranteed? As with all medical treatments, results can vary. PRP is backed by clinical evidence and works well for many, especially in early-stage thinning, but no treatment can guarantee regrowth in every case.

Can I get PRP if I’ve had a hair transplant? Yes, PRP is often used after hair transplants to help support healing and improve growth in both transplanted and existing hair.

How long does the procedure take? Each PRP session takes approximately 60 minutes, including blood draw, preparation, and injections.

Is there any downtime after treatment? There is no significant downtime. You can return to normal activities the same day.
